Speaking of 22 good rocks, London, Ontario's “United Records” has produced a sampler of work from not only Southern Ontario but Brazil, Finland, The Netherlands, England, and the US. All of the tracks fit into the “pre-emo” melodic (or atonal) hardcore bracket and all have a good garagey edge to them.

The compilation begins with Bradford, Ontario's Notoriety - a gritty number called “Paid In Full”. From there it's a survey of “angst inspired hardcore” from Sector Seven, Finland's Dummy, Hamilton's Chore, Kelowna's Undermind, Virginia's Kid Swift, Newcastle England's Senseless and ends with Toronto's 2 Stroke Finish.

All and all a good deal, the Chore track stands out in my mind so much I “gulp” put it onto a mixed tape. I hope that's not bad karma. Best of luck to the crew behind United Records on this compilation.

See ya in the next mosh pit.
